美しき松並木と浜辺が続くマキノビーチ
京阪神の水がめとしてのイメージが強い琵琶湖ですが、実は琵琶湖にはいくつものビーチがあり、綺麗な水で湖水浴ができるようになっています。そのひとつマキノビーチを今回ドローンで飛んでみました。
ここの浜辺沿いには長く続く松並木があり、北はマキノ町のマキノビーチ、南は今津町の今津浜に至る延長5kmの湖岸に、約2000本を超える黒松が植えられて、見事な並木となり美しい景観を造り出しています。その見事な景観は、浜辺の緩やかな曲線沿いに植えられており、美しい湖岸景観を形成しています。
この松並木は、浜辺の防風林として明治の末期より地元の人々の手によって植林、保護されてきたもので、人々の生活と密着しながら、厳しい環境の中でいつくしみ育てられてきたそうです。
今では、琵琶湖の景観になくてはならない風景で、1987年（社）日本の松の緑を守る会によって｢21世紀に引き継ぎたい日本の白砂青松百選｣に選定されました。また、2018年には快水浴場百選にも選ばれています。
空撮映像では分りにくいのですが、マキノビーチは、湖水浴だけでなくキャンプや釣り、カヌーなどのさまざまなアウトドアを楽しめる場所でもあります。今回の撮影時期は梅雨時期のどんよりとした天気の中での撮影で、その美しさは半減していますが、天気の良い日は、白い砂浜と透明な湖水、その奥には山が並んでいて、景色もとてもきれいで癒される場所です。
もうすぐ夏本番です。新型コロナの影響もありますが、三蜜を避けて訪れてください。お勧めの場所でもあります。
